So tomorrow is the last day of the ultimate reset. I have to say I am excited and nervous. I am excited because I get to eat some “treats” that I have been putting off and staying strong to avoid since I started this. I can easily meet up with friends and eat out at restaurants without worrying that I am not really following the plan. Since this is such a short program I really wanted to do everything right so that I could get the optimal return. I know that I wasn’t perfect but I was as close to it as I could be.
I am nervous for the same reason I am excited. I am now “allowed” to eat without a plan. I don’t want to go back to how I was feeling before. So the key to moving forward will be moderation and planning. One of the great things about the Reset is that it gave me a weeks meal plan and all I had to do was follow it. I didn’t have to think. All I had to do was taking the shopping list, buy the food, prepare it and eat. Simple. I have never been a person that planned out the week of meals before I went shopping. I went grocery shopping for things I knew we needed but once they were home I didn’t really have a plan for what I would make with them. Yes, sometimes food would go bad int he fridge because I forgot to use it quick enough but that doesn’t happen often. That has to happen to everyone….right? Forward planning meals has never even been something I considered. Why would I want to plan another thing after all of the planning that goes into my work week and life.
But the truth is, it works. Having a plan and following it makes life easier. I know that when I have finished my meals for the day I am done. No more snacking. I know if I have met my mark with water or I have not. Moving forward I am going to continue to use some of the menu items from the reset and through in some of my own. There were tons of meals I am surprised how much I liked. All of the soup recipes are definitely staying in a regular rotation. My husband loves Tempeh now! I am amazed. We didn’t even know what Tempeh was before. Who would have though that my husband would finish the reset only to love fermented soy beans? Not me! It really is delicious…who knew!
Moving forward I am going to try to post more of the food and recipes that I enjoy that are healthy and surprisingly delicious. We all need healthy, easy options that we can go to without any stress.
